Going To The Dogs:

Going To The Dogs

- by Dennise M. Kowalczyk

The 1st Annual Going to the Dogs Festival is taking place at Main City Park in downtown Gresham on Saturday, September 13th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will benefit Project Pooch, Inc. and MetroEast Community Media.

The festival is a family event and will feature a fun walk, doggy games and contests, a coloring contest and other games for kids, canine good citizen training, and a discounted pet microchip clinic. Major sponsors
of the event are Dogtown and Multnomah County Animal Services. Many local pet product vendors will be tabling at the event: Mixed Breed Dog Club of Oregon, Synlawn, Project Pooch, and many more. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.

For sponsorship or fun walk registration information, contact Teri Jensen, Director of Volunteer Services, at 503-667-8848, ext. 326.

Project Pooch, Inc. provides opportunities
Project Pooch
for youth in corrections to develop the personal and vocational skills they will need to become responsible, productive members of the community. The program accomplishes this by teaching youth to care for and train shelter dogs for adoption. Learn more at Project POOCH.

MetroEast Community Media thanks the Planet Dog Foundation for its generous donation in supporting our event. See the Planet Dog Foundation for more information.
